Fellowship Work Summary, 1996–97

Nancy Langston concentrated on her book project, Troubled Waters: Riparian Boundaries in the Arid West (University of Washington Press, 2000), revising outlines and completing the research for three chapters. She co-authored an undergraduate textbook on ecology, to be published by Oxford University Press, and wrote several essays: "Environmental History of the Northwestern Forests," a chapter for Pacific Northwest Environmental History, edited by Paul Hirt and Dale Goble; "Environmental and Human Change in Old Growth Forests," submitted to the journal Research in Social Problems and Public Policy; and "Restoration and the Uses of Environmental History," submitted to Journal of the West.
