Each year, we celebrate Women’s History Month by remembering past trailblazers and torchbearers. We receive emails from CEOs proclaiming their support of women, and stores like Target, among others, capitalize on the season by prominently displaying “feminist” merchandise. An Employee Resource Group has a speaker, an administrator reads an Eleanor Roosevelt quote. There might even be a new quarter with a female face. But soon, it’s April, and we wait eleven more months for a shallow and ineffective display of powerful women from American history.
Building on a previous TED talk of Krichbaum’s, this webinar will reiterate the importance of American women’s history, shed light on several less familiar stories from that history, and also provide concrete ways to thoughtfully and intentionally celebrate girls and women inside and outside the classroom year-round.
