NHC Participant Travel Allowance 2024–25
The National Humanities Center (NHC) offers a travel allowance to offset some of the expenses incurred by eligible program participants for travel to the Research Triangle Park area for our sponsored events and programs. The amounts indicated in tables 1 and 2 below reflect direct, round-trip travel between the participant’s permanent residence and the NHC.
If traveling by car, please refer to table 1, which provides the travel allowance for round-trip travel by car as designated by region (see table 3 for region definitions). The NHC will use the home address information you provide in the intake form to disperse your allowance upon arrival at the NHC.
If traveling by air, the travel allowance pertains to economy airfare only. Upon arrival at the NHC, participants traveling by air will submit a travel allowance form, including airfare and baggage fee receipts. The travel allowance will be paid directly to the participant via direct deposit. Details on the different travel regions can be found in table 3.
