Zhilian Zhang worked on A History of Western Historiography for Chinese Readers and wrote two essays: "China and France: The Image of the Other" and "Problems of Contemporary Chinese Historiography."
Fellowship Work Summary, 1991–92
Zhilian Zhang edited eleven chapters and added two new chapters to his book, A History of Western Historiography for Chinese Readers. In addition, he wrote an introduction to an edition of Alexis de Tocqueville's Ancien Regime et la Révolution as well as two other essays—"China and France: The Image of the Other" and "Problems of Contemporary Chinese Historiography."
