Fellowship Work Summary, 1996–97

Wing Chung Ng completed the remaining half of a book manuscript, Chineseness in Diaspora: The Cultural Politics of Chinese Identity in Vancouver, 1945—1980. He wrote a 10,000-word essay on the Chinese in Canada, to be included in The Encyclopaedia of the Chinese Overseas; contributed "Challenging an Immigrant Discourse: The Rise of the Local-born Chinese in Vancouver, 1945—1970" to a forthcoming issue of the Journal of American-East Asian Relations.
