Fellowship Work Summary, 1998–99

W. V. Harris wrote three chapters of his book, Ancient Anger, which will be published by Harvard University Press. He wrote a new introduction for a book he edited, called The Transformations of Urbs Roma in Late Antiquity, which was published as a supplement to the Journal of Roman Archaeology (1999). He also began writing an article called "Demography, Geography and the Sources of Roman Slaves," which is due to appear in the 1999 issue of the Journal of Roman Studies. He lectured at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, the University of Colorado, the University of Heidelberg, and Oxford University.
