Fellowship Work Summary, 1992–93

William Craft Brumfield finished Fragments: Photographing the Ruin and Restoration of Russian Architecture, as well as three chapters of National Identity in Nineteenth-Century Russian Architecture, and he worked on several essays: "Country Roads, Somewhere Near Moscow," for The Woodrow Wilson Center Report (January 1993); "Frozen Moments: Notes of a Photographer in Russia," for the National Humanities Center's journal Ideas (Winter 1993); and "Reading Architecture: Building and Text in Nineteenth-Century Russia," for a festschrift to be published in 1994.
