Fellowship Work Summary, 1990–91

William B. Taylor wrote seven chapters of his manuscript, "Magistrates of the Sacred: Priests in Their Parishes in Eighteenth-Century Mexico," as well as the paper "Mexico as Oriental: An Introduction to American and British Representations since 1821" that he presented at the Latin American Studies Association International Congress in Washington, D.C. He also completed the introduction to Violence and Resistance in the Americas: Native Americans and the Legacy of Conquest (Smithsonian Institution Press, 1992), a volume he is co-editing.
