Victor H. Mair concentrated on three book-length projects: The Taoist Tales of Chuang Tzu, accepted for publication by Bantam; The New Columbia Anthology of Chinese Literature, under contract with Columbia University Press; and Buddhism and the Rise of the Written Vernacular in China: The Making of a National Language.
