Sherry B. Ortner completed a draft of her book on social class in America in the second half of the twentieth century, as viewed ethnohistorically through the lives of her high school graduating class, the class of 1958 of Weequahic High School in Newark, N.J. She wrote a new preface for an Italian edition of Sexual Meanings (1981), which she co-authored with Harriet Whitehead.
