Fellowship Work Summary, 1995–96

Sally Haslanger served as special editor for an issue of the journal Philosophical Topics on "Feminist Perspectives on Language, Knowledge, and Reality." She completed "Ontology and Social Construction," accepted for publication in Philosophical Topics, and drafted material for three other essays—one on "Unnatural Kinds and the Reality of Race," another on the psychoanalytic turn in feminist theory, and a third on pornography and objectification. She reviewed Judith Butler's Bodies That Matter for International Studies in Philosophy and wrote a chapter-by-chapter synopsis of her next book, Embodied Meanings: Ontology and the Social Construction of Gender and Race.
