Fellowship Work Summary, 1998–99

Robert L. Kendrick completed most of his book on Milanese Sonic Culture, 1580-1650, to be published by Oxford University Press. He wrote a review of John Hill's Roman Monody from the Circle of Cardinal Montalto for the online Journal of Seventeenth-Century Music (vol. 6), and an entry under "Music," for the Encyclopedia of the Renaissance, edited by P. Frendler. He presented papers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Duke University; at the Heidelberg Symposium on Giovanni Valentini; and at the conference on Religious Culture in Caravaggio's Italy, held at Boston College. He was a participant in the Lilly Collegium on Religion and the Humanities at the Center.
