Piotr Sommer spent the year working on his book project America as the New Center (Changes in the Concept of "the Native" vs. "the Foreign" in Polish Poetry after 1968). Sommer is a poet and translator of Anglo-American poetry into Polish, as well as the editor of the journal Literatura na Swiecie (Warsaw).
