Fellowship Work Summary, 1992–93

Oldřich Tůma revised some chapters and wrote an additional three for his monograph on Venice's relations with the Eastern Mediterranean during the ninth- through twelfth-centuries, to be published by Carolinum in Prague. He also worked on two review articles—one dealing with some recent publications on the connection between Italian maritime cities and Byzantium, the other on American historiography concerning the contemporary history of Czechoslovakia. He also focused on an essay on "Contacts between Central Europe and Byzantium in the 9th–11th Centuries."
