Linda M. Rupert made substantial progress on her book Fugitives to Freedom: Inter-Colonial Marronage, Colonial Rivalries, and Imperial Jurisdiction in the Early Modern Caribbean and made final revisions for “‘Seeking the Water of Baptism’: Fugitive Slaves and Imperial Jurisdiction in the Early Modern Caribbean” for an edited volume Legal Pluralism and Empires, 1500–1850 (2013).
