Linda K. Kerber wrote one half of the first draft of her book, Paradoxes of Women's Citizenship: Patriotism, Property, Jury Service, Military Obligation, and completed revisions of "'Why Should Girls be Learn'd and Wise?' The Unfinished Work of Alice Mary Baldwin," to appear in Visible Women: Essays in Honor of Anne Firor Scott (University of Illinois Press, 1992).
