Lewis Taylor wrote three chapters of his book on the socioeconomic organization of haciendas in the northern Peruvian Andes. He also wrote "Environmentalism and Social Protest: The Contemporary Anti-Mining Mobilization in the Province of San Marcos and the Condebamba Valley, Peru" for the Journal of Agrarian Change (2011) and "Controlling the 'perros del hortelano': The Policing of 'Resource War' Protests in Peru, 2008–2011."
