Fellowship Work Summary, 2010–11
Lawrence Nees completed a draft of his book Perspectives on Early Islamic Art in Jerusalem. He wrote a paper on "A Late Antique, Sasanian or Early Islamic Silver Stand in the Freer Gallery of Art" that will be included in the proceedings of a conference on "Objects on the Borders of Islamic Art," and "Aspects of Antiquarianism in the Art of Bernward and Its Contemporary Analogues" to appear in 1000 Jahre St. Michael in Hildesheim. Kirche–Kunst–Stifter. In addition, he wrote a journal article, "Insular Latin Sources on Early Islamic Jerusalem."
