Fellowship Work Summary, 2009–10

Kit Fine focused his research on "state space semantics," under which an ontology of possible states is used as a foundation for work in semantics and metaphysics. He completed five papers related to this project: "Some Puzzles of Ground," to appear in the Notre Dame Journal of Formal Logic anniversary edition; "The Concept of Ground" for an edited collection of papers on ground, to be published by Cambridge University Press; "A State-Based Approach to the Frame Problem," which has appeared in the Proceedings of the Interdisciplinary Ontology Conference, held in Tokyo; "The Pure Logic of Ground"; and "A Difficulty with the Possible Worlds Analysis of Counterfactuals."
