Julie Greene worked on her book Movable Empire: Labor, Race, Movement, and the Making of U.S. Empire, 1877–1917. She also wrote “Not So Simple: Reassessing the Politics of the Progressive Era AFL” for Labor: Studies in Working-Class History of the Americas (2013) and “The Wages of Empire: Capitalism, Expansionism, and Working-Class Formation,” forthcoming in Laboring the Empire: Class, Race, and U.S. Imperialism.
