Fellowship Work Summary, 2007–08

Judith A. Byfield completed the research, wrote two chapters, and drafted two others for “The Great Upheaval”—The Egba Women’s Tax Revolt: Gender and Nationalist Politics in Nigeria, 1945-1954. She completed the introduction for a volume she edited, Gendering the Diaspora: Women, Culture, and Historical Change in the Caribbean and the Nigerian Hinterland, and organized a collection of essays by participants in the Dartmouth College/University of Ibadan (Nigeria) Faculty Exchange Program called Building Bridges Across American Studies, that will be printed in Nigeria.
