John M. Willis concentrated on his book After the Caliphate: Mecca and the Geography of Crisis and Hope. He also wrote “Life and Death in the Graves of Mecca and Medina” for Middle East Report (2014); “Operation Decisive Storm and the Expanding Counter-Revolution” also for Middle East Report (2015); and “Governing the Living and the Dead: Mecca and the Biopolitical Origins of the Saudi State.”
