John E. Crowley finished rough drafts of chapters on artificial illumination, domestic heating, and colonial vernacular architecture for his book on The Invention of Comfort in Anglo-American Society, 1500-1850, and he began his follow-up study, "In Happier Mansions": Designing Cottages, 1750-1850.
