Fellowship Work Summary, 1992–93

Jing Wang completed four chapters of her book manuscript on the cultural politics of post-Mao China of the 1980s, as well as two essays—"The Mirage of Chinese Postmodernism," to be published in Positions: East Asia Culture Critique; and "Romancing the Subject: Utopian Moments in the Chinese Aesthetics of Post-Mao China," a paper she presented at a symposium at the University of California, Santa Cruz, which will appear in Discours Sociale. She also started editing an anthology of short stories by the Chinese avant-garde.
