Fellowship Work Summary, 1990–91

Helena Goscilo completed seven chapters of a book tentatively entitled, TNT: The Explosive World of Tolstaian Texts; worked on portions of Wild Beach, the second volume of a glasnost-literature project that she is co-editing; and did preliminary editing of Ever Transitive, an anthology of Russian women's fiction in translation.(Ardis, 1992). She revised two essays, "Alternative Prose" and "Glasnost Literature," to be included in Five Years That Shook the World (Westview Press, 1991), and "Monsters Monomaniacal, Marital, and Medical: Tolstaia's Regenerative Use of Gender Stereotypes" for a volume on Sexuality and the Body in Russian Culture (Stanford University Press, 1992). For the Encyclopedia of World Literature in the 20th Century she wrote two short articles: "Tatiana Tolstaia" and "Liudmila Petrushevskaia."
