Fellowship Work Summary, 2000–01

George Watson worked on a draft outline of a book, entitled The Ideology of Celticism in Scotland and Ireland, and wrote two chapters. He completed an essay on "Yeats the Victorian," to be published in the Cambridge Companion to Yeats Studies, edited by John S. Kelly (forthcoming, 2002), and drafted an essay on "Yeats and Modernism" for a book, tentatively titled Modernism and Colonialism, that is to be co-edited by Michael Valdez Moses and Richard Begam. His article on the cultural polarities of Northern Ireland, entitled "From Hanover Street to the Garvaghey Road: Growing Up in Portadown," will be published in the Center's journal, Ideas (vol. 8, no. 2).
