Erin A. Smith drafted four chapters for her book project, Souls and Commodities: Spirituality and Print Culture in Twentieth-Century America. She wrote an essay on "Genre Reading" for the Encyclopedia of Recreation and Leisure in America, ed. Gary S. Cross (Scribner's, forthcoming, 2003), and an article on "Class in the Classroom" for Radical Teacher; and reviewed three book manuscripts and two journal articles.
