Fellowship Work Summary, 2017–18

Emily J. Levine completed her book Ideal and Contract: The Transformation of Higher Education in Germany and America (under contract with University of Chicago Press). She also completed a journal article "Historicizing 'Institutional Choice,' the Location of Research, and Private Funds in Twentieth-Century Germany and America." Additionally, she coauthored two op-ed pieces: "The Right Way to Fix Universities" with Mitchell L. Stevens for the New York Times (December 1, 2017) and "Enhance Humanities Career Outcomes? Engage Faculty" with Nicole Hall for Inside Higher Ed (October 2, 2017).
