Ellen Ross wrote the first chapter of her book From Social Work to Global Activism in Britain, 1914–1950, and finished "'Playing Deaf': Jewish Women at the Medical Missions of East London, 1880–1920s" which appeared in the online journal 19: Interdisciplinary Studies in the Long Nineteenth Century (2012). She worked on "Missionaries and Feminists: The Soho Sisters of the People, 1888–1939" and completed "St. Francis in Soho: Mary Neal, Emmeline Pethick, and the West London Mission, 1888–1895."
