Fellowship Work Summary, 1993–94

Edna G. Bay finished four chapters of a projected six-chapter book, Wives of the Leopard: Gender, Class, and Power in the Kingdom of Dahomey, and wrote two articles: "Belief, Legitimacy and the Kpojito: An Institutional History of the 'Queen Mother' in Precolonial Dahomey," to be published in the Journal of African History, and "Benin," to appear in Political Parties of Sub-Saharan Africa, edited by Guy Martin (Greenwood Press, 1994).
