Fellowship Work Summary, 2010–11

Deborah McGrady made substantial progress on her book Beyond Patronage: Reinventing Literary Dynamics during the Hundred Years War. She also wrote "Machaut and His Material Legacy" for A Companion to Guillaume de Machaut: A Multidisciplinary Approach to the Master (Brill, forthcoming 2011); "Guerre ne sert que de torment: Remembering War in the Poetic Correspondence of Charles d'Orléans" for Commemorating Violence: The Writing of History in the Francophone Middle Ages (Boydell and Brewer, forthcoming 2012); and "The Gift of Literature: Machaut and Froissart's Contributions to the Writing Community" for the forthcoming Oxford Handbook to Chaucer. For a special issue of Etudes françaises, Publics et publications dans les éloges collectifs de femmes à la fin du Moyen Age et sous l'Ancien Régime, she wrote "De 'l'onneur et louenge des femmes': Les dédicaces épistolaire du Débat sur le Roman de la Rose et la réconfiguration du champ littéraire."
