Fellowship Work Summary, 2003–04

David Ringrose worked extensively on his book project, Europeans Abroad, 1400–1700: Support Networks and Accommodation in the Wider World. He revised a major article, "A Setting for Royal Authority: The Reshaping of Madrid, Sixteenth–Eighteenth Centuries," which will be published with illustrations in a book on Baroque cities, under the auspices of the Center for Austrian Studies at the University of Minnesota (Berghann Books). He also wrote a review of Stanley J. Stein and Barbara H. Stein's Apogee of Empire: Spain and New Spain in the Age of Charles III, 1759–1789 for H-Net Reviews.
