David Ellis wrote the introduction for the new Everyman edition of D. H. Lawrence's Women in Love; completed an edition of four volumes of criticism on Lawrence in the "Critical Assessments" series (with Ornella de Zordo); and collaborated with Frank Cioffi on a dialogue—"Explanation in Biography"—to appear in a collection of essays on biography that he is editing for Pluto Press. In addition, he wrote some 60,000 words of volume three of the new Cambridge biography of Lawrence.
