Fellowship Work Summary, 1996–97

Constantin Fasolt wrote and revised most of his book, The Shadow of the Emperor: A Study and Translation of Hermann Conring's "New Discourse on the Roman-German Emperor." He saw two articles to press —"A Question of Right: Hermann Conring's 'New Discourse on the Roman-German Emperio"' (Sixteenth Century Journal) and "William Durant the Younger and Conciliar Theory" (Journal ofthe History of Ideas)—and worked on a third one, "A Supposititious Child? The Publishing History of Hermann Conring's 'New Discourse on the Roman-German Emperor'." For an anthology, Medieval Italian Jurisprudence: Selection of Texts in Translation, he revised the English translations of Latin manuscripts.
