Fellowship Work Summary, 1993–94

Conor Cruise O'Brien finished the text of Ancestral Voices: Religion and Nationalism in Ireland, to be published by Poolbeg Press, Dublin in the fall of 1994, and he continued work on two additional book-length projects: The Founding Fathers and the French Revolution and the Oxford Book of Revolutions, a volume commissioned by Oxford University Press that he is editing. He wrote an article on "The IRA Movie" for the May 9, 1994 issue of The New Republic and contributed to The Independent (London) an article on "Academic Freedom" that was based on a formal discussion he organized and took part in at the National Humanities Center.
