Fellowship Work Summary, 1993–94
Christopher Baswell completed Virgil in Medieval England: Figuring the Aeneid from the Twelfth Century to Chaucer, to be published by Cambridge University Press early in 1995, and wrote an essay on "Latinitas" for the Cambridge History of Medieval English Literature, edited by David Wallace. For his next project on narratives of empire in medieval Europe, he wrote one chapter and drafted two others, portions of which will appear in journals and in a forthcoming collection on translation in the Middle Ages.
