Brenda Gayle Plummer wrote an essay, "Brown Babies: Race, Gender, and Policy after World War II," which will be published in a volume she is editing, tentatively called America's Dilemma: Race, Civil Rights, and Foreign Affairs (University of North Carolina Press, forthcoming). She worked on a draft of a book to be called Turbulent Era: Afro-Americans and Foreign Affairs, 1954-1980, and an essay entitled "The Power to Kill: Race, U.S. Citizenship, and the Right to Bear Arms."
