Ankica Petrovic concentrated on her book, The Changing Role of Women in the Interpretation of Religious Chants. For this volume, she wrote essays on "Women as the Active Participants in Jewish Religious Chants," "Gender, Power, and Musical Creativity in the Balkans," "The Status of the Traditional Music in Eastern Europe—a Critical Review," and "New Perspectives of Sephardic Folk Music Established by Flory Jagoda."
