Fellowship Work Summary, 2024–25

Isabel C. Gómez drafted four chapters of her second monograph, Divest from English: Eco-Translation and Translingual Writing Beyond Repair. She also revised the first chapter, titled “Hurricane Conditions in Puerto Rican Poetry,” revised a book proposal for this project, and conducted extensive research for the introduction. She drafted and revised a chapter, titled “Speculative Gender in Latin American Poetics: Place, Perspective, and Collective Sovereignty,” for the Bloomsbury Handbook of Poetics, Gender, and Sexuality. As translations editor of the Latin American Literary Review, she edited five translation pieces for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 issues of the journal.
