Education Programs

NHC education programs build bridges between the academic world and the working classroom, addressing both classic and contemporary aspects of the humanities.

Professional Development and Classroom Resources

The NHC’s education programs strengthen humanities teaching at the collegiate and pre-collegiate levels by connecting educators with scholars and their work, and by fostering a community of teaching professionals who share their expertise and experience in classrooms of every kind.

The Center’s offerings for educators include an extensive collection of teaching resources; a popular series of live, interactive webinars; and other professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and build content knowledge.

Teacher-Tested

The Center’s education programs are supported by a group of exceptional teacher-leaders who make up our Teacher Advisory Council. Chosen to represent a wide range of subjects, grade levels, and teaching environments, these educators play an active role in the development, evaluation, and promotion of the National Humanities Center’s educational materials and projects.
