Being Human Festival (US)
The National Humanities Center leads the American edition of Being Human, a festival of public humanities that engages communities nationwide. The festival creates opportunities for public audiences to encounter the humanities in creative and accessible ways by sponsoring non-academic, experiential events organized by a wide range of humanities practitioners.
Successful proposals receive grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 from the Center to help defray costs for their events, which must be grounded in humanistic methods but designed to engage the general public.
