National Humanities Center Names Leah Wu Fell Vice President for Development

The National Humanities Center (NHC) has announced the appointment of Leah Wu Fell as vice president for development, effective February 2, 2026. Prior to joining the Center, Fell served as chief development officer at PBS North Carolina. She has also served in senior fundraising positions at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, the Denver Art Museum, the Wildlife Conservation Society at the Bronx Zoo, and the Brookings Institution.

Fell holds an MA in International Education from New York University and a BA in English and Spanish from Georgetown University. She is inspired by the humanities and values their essential role in fostering critical thinking, cultural understanding, and a more informed public life.

“Leah Wu Fell is a gifted fundraiser, as she has demonstrated repeatedly during her career in development,” said Blair LM Kelley, president and director of the NHC. “Leah’s passion for helping others and her extensive, multidisciplinary leadership experience will be vital for the Center’s ability to meet the moment. We are excited to have her join our dedicated staff and help us grow as we take the next steps in the Center’s story.”
