About Fellow

Mawukplorm Harriet Abla Adjahoe has taught technical theatre in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana since 2024. She holds a PhD in African Studies from a joint program between the University of Cape Coast and the University of Hildesheim in Germany, an MPhil in Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana, and a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Cape Coast. Her doctoral research was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through the SDG Graduate School “Performing Sustainability: Cultures and Development in West Africa.”

Adjahoe’s research operates at the intersection of technical theatre, cultural sustainability, and eco-drama, focusing chiefly on sustainable set design that uses biomimicry and circular economy principles to repurpose waste materials into functional theatrical environments. Recently, she has expanded her focus to the structural dynamics of performative geographies.

Adjahoe also serves as the artistic manager for Performing Positivity (PerPos) Ghana and has lent her expertise as a national team member for the UNESCO-Aschberg Programme and as an Intangible Cultural Heritage trainer for the UNESCO World Heritage Convention.
