About Fellow
James Van Cleve is professor of philosophy at the University of Southern California. He taught previously for many years as a professor at Brown University and has taught as a visiting professor at Duke University, the University of Iowa, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Among his courses have been Metaphysics; The Philosophy of David Hume; Time and History; and The Ways of Paradox. He has published nearly one hundered articles on topics in epistemology, metaphysics, and the history of philosophy in the seventeenth, eighteenth, and twentieth centuries.
