Vertical Integration

Vertical integration is a form of corporate structure in which several companies with common ownership or divisions within the same company make constituents elements or provide services that advance the creation of an ultimate product. Thus one division in a company might produce raw material that another division turns into a product that another transports while another division of the company markets the product and still another offers for sale.
