to Provide Funds for Fellowship Program

Research Triangle Park, N.C. In March 2009 the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded a grant to the National Humanities Center with a provision for the Center to raise matching funds from supporters. The grant awarded $412,000 outright and required the Center to raise an additional $103,000 to qualify for an additional $103,000 in federal funds.
With strong support from its friends, the Center is pleased to announce the successful completion of its goal, providing a total of $618,000 to fund four fellowships for the next three years.
Over 530 trustees, friends, and Fellows responded to the NEH opportunity as part of the Center's 2009-2010 annual fund campaign which raised $470,000 in total this year; a 3% increase over 2008-09.
