Successful Season of Center Events Concludes with Big Band Music of Mary Lou Williams

Research Triangle Park, N.C. On April 27th, the National Humanities Center closed the season's slate of public events with the North Carolina Jazz Repertory Orchestra (NCJRO) playing selections of Big Band music by jazz legend Mary Lou Williams. With commentary from Fellow Ted Buehrer, Kenyon
College, a crowd of 250 enjoyed music from over 40 years of Williams's diverse career as performer, composer, and arranger. Mary Lou Williams's sisters and other family members were among several special guests in attendance.
